If I create a second account and get banned, is there a chance that my main account will also be banned?

I read an article about Spoofer, and there was a post there that said to use a VPN to create a new account. Is this to avoid getting the main account banned?

Hello , Eventually If you're alt account is linked to your main account there is a chance to get banned , Using spoofer and vpn is to avoid being tracked by valve still it doesn't save your tracks on main account in case you've been linked before with the account you got banned , Creating account without vpn is not recommended do it at your own risk
